Coach Rebecca’s Journey:
From Grief & Debilitating Pain to Renewed Strength & Confidence…
A year of deep loss, grief, and injury left me completely depleted.
Cumulative grief, a concussion, whiplash, multiple injuries, and musculoskeletal syndrome (common in perimenopause but rarely diagnosed) left me feeling broken from head to toe. Even short dog walks felt challenging.
I had spent months caregiving for a close friend with terminal illness. After his death, grief compounded on grief. I felt lost in it, numb, disconnected, and without a no clear solution.
And alongside it came the midlife “pleasures”:
Night sweats. Insomnia. Brain fog. Increased food sensitivities. Bloating. Full body joint pain.
Essentially, a body I felt completely foreign in.
Then I stumbled across an 8-week vegan bodybuilding program. Not something that would have normally appealed to me, but something about it called me forward.
The program offered something I desperately needed: a radical return to myself.
It worked.
I returned to my body. And I got amazing body comp results. But it also revealed what was missing.
In surrendering to another coach’s program, I followed the plan unquestioning. And I overtrained. While I got leaner than I’d ever been, I also unexpectedly slipped into body dysmorphia. Something that genuinely surprised me given both my background and deep connection with my body.

So, I made some key shifts and began rebuilding from the inside out. On my terms.
That experience led to the creation of Power, Strength & Soul (formerly The Plant-Strong Sculpt) – the program I wish I’d had myself.
I know what’s possible and I created this program because I want that for you too.

Most fitness advice was designed for younger bodies. Or male ones. And some of the biggest wellness trends right now are doing midlife women more harm than good.
HIIT, fasting, sardine diets, and cold plunges for example. And while these approaches may be fine for some, for many of us, they further dysregulate the nervous system, spike cortisol and increase fat storage, and leave hormones more disrupted than before.

Where I started: I was exhausted. I had multiple alarms set and would drag myself out of bed at the latest possible time. I was fasting for 18–19 hours at a time and killing myself in my workouts, yet still not seeing the results I wanted.
Eight weeks later: I get up with my 6am alarm and head straight for my workout. My energy is balanced, the afternoon crash is gone. I’m not fasting or doing killer workouts, yet I’ve gotten stronger, lost belly fat, and have more energy for my family.

Where I started: I was the heaviest I had ever been at 191 pounds. My alcohol use was at an all-time high, my periods were super heavy, and my body hurt 24/7 with joint pain and Achilles tendonitis. While I had lost 30 pounds prior to PSS, I still wasn’t eating well and I was scared of gaining the weight back again.
Eight weeks later: I move daily, often hitting 10,000 steps or more, and I have started Pilates which I’m loving. My period is the lightest it’s been in 2 years. My heel pain has gone from a 7 to a TWO, and I now sleep solidly through the night. I feel healthy and fit, stronger, and even lost an additional 7 pounds and 8.5 inches. I’m confident and excited to keep going!

“I no longer see myself as fragile.”
Where I started: After a chronic illness diagnosis 13 years ago, I identified as a woman with a strong will, but a fragile body. When we began PSS, I felt tired and overwhelmed, and starting the busiest season of work. I wasn’t sure I could do it.
Eight weeks later: Rebecca helped me approach PSS in a way that felt doable for me. I lost 4lbs, sugar cravings went down and my energy went up. I’m mountain biking up hills I couldn’t before, more than doubled my rowing distance in the same timeframe, and feeling stronger overall.
